Carrying Forward a Legacy
Ross Slacks serves as Executive Director of the Northeast Louisiana Delta African-American Heritage Museum. The son of founding visionary Lorraine Slacks, Ross assumed leadership with a deeply personal commitment to protecting and advancing the legacy his mother helped establish.
From Vision to Stewardship
With a professional background in nonprofit leadership and community advocacy, Ross brings strategic focus and renewed vitality to the museum. He has introduced modern exhibition practices while expanding the museum’s educational partnerships and regional presence.
A Focus on Artists and Community

Education and Engagement
Under his direction, the museum has strengthened its role as a resource for educators, students, and civic groups. Ross regularly coordinates lectures, tours, and creative workshops that bring history off the walls and into real-world conversations.
Looking Ahead

“This museum is more than a collection of artifacts—it’s a living, breathing testament to the spirit of the Delta.”
