Kwanzaa is an annual holiday celebrated primarily in the United States. It celebrates the importance of the pan-African family and corresponding social values. The first day of Kwanzaa is Umoja, which means "unity". It is a day to celebrate and strengthen bonds with family and community, and to reaffirm cultural values. Happy Kwanzaa from your friends at the NELA African American Heritage Museum!
